Wolfgang TillmansGlade / Clairière

Galerie Chantal Crousel

Sep 5 – Oct 10, 2026 Marais

Closed

Photographs, a floor installation of industrial rope loops and a two-part video, built around the idea of the line.

The gallery sees the line in Tillmans’s work in two ways: lines drawn or placed on purpose, and lines that appear because he trusts the world to take part in making the picture. The title refers to a clearing where light passes through, a nod to photography and to landscape.

Large rope loops lie on the floor of one room. Elsewhere are folded works in photosensitive paper from the Lighter series; Intervention Pictures, with colored lines drawn in light in the darkroom; landscapes photographed from high-speed trains in China, France and elsewhere; and a video, Cité Shadows / Seine Turbulences, made during his residency at the Cité internationale des arts.
