Paola CiarskaÀ PERTE DE VUE
New paintings of densely filled miniature interiors seen in isometric and plunging views, with solitary figures and embedded gazes.
In her second solo show at the gallery, Ciarska continues to treat miniature interiors as self-contained worlds of objects, images and private activities. Her isometric perspective is joined by a new view from above, and objects break free of their domestic arrangement while watching eyes set within them turn the viewer’s look back on itself. Pink and blue portals frame solitary figures, suggesting that visibility does not give access to another’s inner life.
Works from her earlier series Gynecee and Glitch, and from Eternal Revel, are shown alongside.
