Ena Boskovic
Coil-built ceramic vessels, mostly unglazed and coated in cracked black or white terra sigillata.
Boskovic, who lives in Tulum, builds every vessel by hand through coiling, joining the coils with her fingertips or a small wooden tool. The visible seams form overlapping rows of marks that recall leaves, bark or scales.
Most pieces stay unglazed, brushed with many coats of terra sigillata that cracks into fine lines as it dries and fires; deeper fissures are left as they are. The vessels become half-open spaces rather than functional objects. This is her first solo exhibition at the gallery.
