Dor GuezArt in Focus
An installation of family objects in glass vitrines, plus a photographic series based on a water-damaged play manuscript.
Guez draws on the private archive of his family, which combines Christian Palestinian and Jewish Tunisian roots. Objects from buttons to a red vest sewn by his grandmother are displayed in glass vitrines as carriers of forgotten histories.
Belly of the Boat presents the belongings of his Tunisian Jewish grandparents, Holocaust survivors who emigrated to Israel in 1951. Letters from the Greater Maghreb is a photographic series based on his grandfather’s water-damaged play in Judeo-Tunisian Arabic.
