Group exhibition
Hanover Gallery
Francis Bacon, Alberto Giacometti, Germaine Richier and others
Oct 9 – Dec 11, 2026 Mayfair
Loans of post-war paintings and sculpture, with archive material, honouring the dealer Erica Brausen and her Hanover Gallery.
The first exhibition devoted to Erica Brausen (1908–1992), the German-born dealer who ran the Hanover Gallery in Mayfair and first established Francis Bacon’s reputation. It brings together loans from institutions and private collections, works she handled, and contextual and archive material.
Upstairs is given to the human figure in works by Bacon, Giacometti and Germaine Richier; downstairs shows a wider range of post-war artists she showed. Curated with Jane Alison, who wrote an essay for the illustrated catalogue.
