Bridget Riley

Hazlitt Holland-Hibbert

Oct 1 – Nov 27, 2026 St James's

Works by Bridget Riley from three phases of her career, made between 1962 and 2015 at varied scales and in several media.

The show brings together pieces from three distinct periods of Riley’s more than sixty years of work, tracing how her study of visual perception developed. Media and scale vary widely, but all aim to convey the experience of sight.

The page points to nature as the root of her approach, citing her essay The Pleasure of Sight (1984) and her childhood in Cornwall, even as her work moves away from depicting the external world toward patterns of colour and form.
