Harmony Hammond
Oct 6 – Nov 13, 2026 St James's
Paintings and monotypes by Harmony Hammond, including grommeted prints and canvas-belt works that sit between painting, print and sculpture.
This is Hammond’s first exhibition with the gallery. Her works approach abstraction through the body, engaging Minimalism while giving it political content. She builds surfaces by collaging, wrapping, patching and braiding.
The Grommetypes, a term from Lucy Lippard, are monotypes in thin layers of ink in gunmetal, mud, parchment and blood tones, studded with metal eyelets. Other works attach strips of canvas belt to near-monochrome grounds, bound with painted twine.
