Group exhibition
The Glorious 19th Century
Albert Goodwin, Alfred William Hunt, Helen Allingham and others
British watercolours and drawings of the long nineteenth century, from Constable and Towne to Goodwin, Allingham and Lear.
The show brings together watercolours, drawings and a few other works from across the nineteenth century, with landscapes, castles and abbeys, Venetian scenes, cottage and garden subjects, and satirical figure studies by Thomas Rowlandson.
Albert Goodwin, Alfred William Hunt, Helen Allingham, Edward Lear, Francis Towne and John Constable are among the artists, and a Julia Margaret Cameron portrait of Tennyson represents photography.
