New paintings, photographs, video, installation, performance and sculpture by 15 GEDOK Berlin members, made for the association’s centenary.
Fifteen juried members of GEDOK Berlin, an association promoting women artists, made new work for its 100th anniversary. They look back at the association’s history, study figures such as founder Ida Dehmel, reflect on being a woman artist in a patriarchal society, and propose ways to make women artists more visible.
The show extends beyond the gallery: the Kommunale Galerie presents the finished works, while the GEDOK Galerie shows the association’s history alongside how each piece came about. Performances by Ortrun Stanzel run through the season.
