Photography-based works on cuneiform and the Epic of Gilgamesh, considering writing, storage and what survives catastrophe.
Raimann’s first show at Klemm’s takes writing as a technology and a way of negotiating power, history and collective trauma. It centers on cuneiform, the oldest known writing system, and the Epic of Gilgamesh, tracing how stories persist through catastrophe.
Working mainly with photography, the Austrian artist (born 1992) examines how images and digital information are made, stored and transmitted, moving from ancient tablets and archaeological ruins to digital archives and present-day storage systems.
