Andy Hope 1930SECOND ECHO
Paintings and sculpture from about 30 years of Andy Hope 1930’s work on Suprematism and science fiction, marking 25 years with the gallery.
The artist’s ninth solo show with the gallery comes 25 years after his first, Down the Hollywood Line, which in 2001 was also the gallery’s opening show. Named after a painting series he has returned to since 2010, it runs from the spray-painted Roswell Saucer I and II (1997) through acrylic-glass sculptures of 2017 to new Untitled Sequence paintings, sprayed dots over thickly worked grounds.
The last of the three rooms gathers works into a field of particle-like patterns and black holes.
