Susanne KriemannIm Fieber der Sonne flattern Schmetterlinge im Bauch

C/O Berlin

Sep 12, 2026 – Jan 20, 2027 Charlottenburg

Camera-less images exposed by uranium ore and plants from former uranium mines, with work made from slag and floorboards found in Kriemann’s Berlin studio.

In the new cycle Pechblende (Fever), radioactive ore and dried plants gathered at remediated mining sites in Saxony, Thuringia and France’s Limousin expose sheet film directly; more film was buried in a reclaimed waste heap near Dresden.

Slag from under her studio floor becomes pigment, its wood shavings paper, and the floorboards part of the installation. The second After Nature Prize 26 winner, curated by Katharina Täschner.
