Plain Talk
From Nov 18, 2020 Mitte
An exhibition on the history of the Bode-Museum building and its collections, from its founding through two World Wars to today.
For the first time the Bode-Museum is itself the subject of an exhibition. It traces how the building, one of Berlin’s best-known façades, has lived through two World Wars, the Nazi era and the division of Germany, and how its story is tied to the city’s.
The show is organised in four sections: the collections, the building, research and the public. Restoration and technical studies of works are included. It is presented by the Skulpturensammlung, the Münzkabinett and the Zentralarchiv.
