# Randy Gaul: *Inner Workings* From Oct 22, 2026 · coming up - Thu, Oct 22, 2026: Opening night with the artist, 5–10 pm, free, 21+ Original artwork by a film concept designer: creatures, imagined landscapes and illuminated sculptures made outside his studio work. Randy Gaul, a concept designer at Industrial Light & Magic whose artwork has contributed to films such as A.I. Artificial Intelligence, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Despicable Me, shows personal work made apart from his film career. Intricate creatures, imagined landscapes and illuminated sculptures grow from small encounters: a tree root, a dream, a conversation with the gallery’s owner that led to a darkly comic holiday house. Passion Projects SF: The Artist Behind the Effect, with six Bay Area film artists, opens the same evening.
