New paintings of everyday objects, typefaces and furnishings in flattened, collage-like compositions with a Pop sensibility.

Rubegni’s paintings combine images, texts and objects from disparate sources into puzzle-like scenes where forms dissolve into one another. Rooted in the Metaphysical tradition, they keep occasional architectural elements from fifteenth-century painting.

Here he moves toward an almost two-dimensional space and a collage-like construction, drawing on art history and design: toys, clothing, signs and furniture meeting without any human figure. The show comes with a text by Gaia Bobò.
