# Hank Willis Thomas and Man Ray: *Tomorrow I shall contradict myself* Sep 25 – Dec 31, 2026 · on view Hank Willis Thomas’s first show with Galleria Continua, set beside Man Ray: two artists a century apart who treat photography as transformation rather than record. The title is a line of Man Ray’s. His rayographs, solarisations, objects and paintings are shown with Thomas’s retroreflective works, in which a second image hidden in the surface appears under a flash, and his sculptures of gestures, clasped hands and a raised fist, made monumental in veined marble. Thomas first met Man Ray’s work as a photography student in New York. A second show under the same title runs at Continua’s gallery in San Gimignano until January 31, 2027.
