## Exhibitions

### Anthony Caro: *The Kenwood Series*

Sep 5 – Oct 24, 2026 · on view, closing soon · Grenier-Saint-Lazare

Thirteen late sculptures in stoneware, stone and steel, opening the gallery’s 2026–27 season.

The Kenwood Series, made in 2003–04 by the British sculptor Anthony Caro (1924–2013), is one of his late bodies of work and rarely shown in Europe. Caro made it after working with the ceramicist Hans Spinner near Grasse, which brought stoneware into his work alongside the steel he was known for.

The pieces suggest fragments of landscape and of the human body without becoming literal. The series is named for Kenwood House in London, where it was first shown. The largest work, Witness, about 2.8 by 2.2 meters, is at the heart of the display and seems to rise from the ground.

### Robin Kid: *Permanent Display*

Sep 5 – Oct 31, 2026 · on view · Beaubourg

Kid’s fourth solo show at Templon: a selection from the past decade beside LIFE, a new series of silkscreened aluminum cereal boxes and layered paintings.

Work from the past ten years hangs beside the first showing of LIFE, a series Kid has developed over several years. Its starting point is a line from the Doors’ 1968 song The Unknown Soldier that folds breakfast, the evening news and war into one domestic scene.

Cereal boxes silkscreened on aluminum stand in rows like supermarket stock, next to paintings built up from cowboy films, broadcasts, ads and social media, their images worn down by repetition. Kid grew up in a Dutch mining town beside an American military base.

### Gérard Garouste: *Brisure*

Nov 5 – Dec 30, 2026 · coming up · Grenier-Saint-Lazare

New paintings, drawings and sculptures from the past four years, built around the Kabbalistic idea of the breaking of the vessels.

Garouste takes the Kabbalistic notion of the “breaking of the vessels” as a way of reading and painting: forms and words fragment and shift, opening new associations. Figures stretch and distort in saturated, theatrical scenes drawn from Talmudic texts, myth and literature.

The centerpiece is the triptych L’Amandier (2026), 3.5 metres wide, shown with the bronzes Guer (2025) and L’Arbre de Vie (2024). Works on paper from the Flammarion book Brisure, by Pierre-Henry Salfati, are shown for the first time.
