## Exhibitions

### Lassana Sarre: *Globale Inversion Inversion*

Jun 5, 2026 – Feb 14, 2027 · on view

Murals, canvases and a sound piece made in situ, drawn from the daily work of the Palais de Tokyo’s security staff.

Lassana Sarre spent time with the Palais de Tokyo’s security teams, from the entrance desk to the galleries, watching the rounds, exchanges and stories that visitors rarely notice. He answers with wall paintings, canvases and a sound installation made on site.

The paintings, often in earth colors and built on contrasts of black and white, return to details of the job: patrols, standing still, beeps, breaks, shifts, meals alone or shared. Curated by Horya Makhlouf and Hugo Vitrani.

Twenty-three artists and collectives from ten countries work across visual art, film, performance, architecture, design, music, fashion and publishing, inside and outside the museum. Music performances, cooking workshops and talks accompany the works. It is curated by Hyo Gyoung Jeon, June Young Kwak and Hugo Vitrani.

### Sonia Gomes: *Cœur sauvage*

Oct 21, 2026 – Feb 14, 2027 · coming up

Sculptures and installations by Sonia Gomes made from found and donated fabrics, rope, lace and salvaged wood, drawing on her Afro-Brazilian heritage.

Gomes knots, twists, stitches and binds textiles that were given to her or found, along with cords, embroidery, bits of wood and salvaged objects, into sculptures, paintings and installations that hang from the ceiling, sit on the wall or spread across the floor. Rooted in Afro-descendant craft traditions, the works take up colonial legacies, race and gender, with red running through the show.

Curated by Daria de Beauvais.

### Valérie John: *I telman nwè ki i blé (Si noir que cela en devient bleu)*

Oct 21, 2026 – Feb 14, 2027 · coming up

Paper and textile assemblages, installations, clothing and books by the Martinique-based artist Valérie John, ranging through indigo from deepest blue to black.

The monographic show covers John’s work since the 1990s, when she returned to Martinique and set up her studio there. Assemblages, installations, garments, objects and books hang on the walls, lie on the floor or are suspended, tied to water, mourning and transatlantic memory.

She learned indigo dyeing partly in Senegal, where she still spends part of the year, and reworks textiles such as the pagne, papers and documents she collects. Curated by Amandine Nana, with the Center for Art, Research and Alliances, New York.

### Rose Lowder: *La Source de la Loire et autres films*

Oct 21, 2026 – Feb 14, 2027 · coming up

Recent 16 mm films by Rose Lowder, among them La Source de la Loire, shot over three springs at the source of France’s longest river.

Lowder has filmed nature close to home for more than 50 years, composing images frame by frame inside her Bolex 16 mm camera, so that a single shot can last a fraction of a second. The show projects on film La Source de la Loire (2019–2021), made over three successive springs at Mont Gerbier de Jonc.

It is paired with twenty one-minute films grouped as “bouquets,” shot on estates in southern France and northern Italy that cultivate biodiversity. Curated by François Piron.

### *Toi et ta bande*

Group exhibition · Oct 21, 2026 – Feb 14, 2027 · coming up

Gina Proenza, Pacôme Ricciardi, Marine Peixoto, Léa Tissot-Laura, Collectif Silo and others

About twenty works, many made for the show, by artists and collectives who choose to live away from cities, in Brittany, Corsica, Guadeloupe, the Cévennes and elsewhere.

The title is borrowed from a work by Gina Proenza, and the show looks at the many kinds of band found in rural, mountain and island places: artist collectives, a group of high-school students, choirs, and communities of living, work and protest. Some nineteen artists and groups take part, among them Artetxe, Pacôme Ricciardi, Marine Peixoto, Léa Tissot-Laura and Collectif Silo.

Curated by Liza Maignan.

### Céleste Richard-Zimmermann: *Toutes les colonnes n’ont pas un cœur de pierre*

Oct 21, 2026 – Jan 10, 2027 · coming up

Sculptures, bas-reliefs, paintings and sound by Céleste Richard-Zimmermann, staged like an abandoned quarry around a giant broken, hollow column.

The winner of the Prix des Amis du Palais de Tokyo turns the vocabulary of official statuary on its head, working in stone, plaster, copper and polystyrene so that fakes pass for the real thing. A headless, hollow column anchors the show, which draws on the history of monuments pulled down in revolutions and on graffiti, workshop marks and weathering.

Curated by Horya Makhlouf; the show travels to the CEAAC in Strasbourg in 2027.

### Ali Cherri: *Today is OK*

Oct 21, 2026 – Feb 14, 2027 · coming up

A new film about a French soldier on Bastille Day, extended by sets, sculptures and a monumental installation.

Ali Cherri’s film La Sentinelle, shown at Cannes in 2026 and co-produced by the Palais de Tokyo, follows a French soldier, Lafleur, through a national holiday, drifting between reality and dream; Nahuel Perez Biscayart and Eric Cantona star.

Here the film spills into the galleries as sets, sculptures and installations built like theater or painting. At the center, a monumental sculpture modeled on war memorials undercuts heroism to show soldiers’ vulnerability. Curated by Hugo Vitrani.

### *Chambre des échos : Le bleu de toute chose*

Group exhibition · Oct 21, 2026 – Jan 6, 2027 · coming up · Chambre des échos, free entrance hall

Yto Barrada, Charles Villa and books by Derek Jarman, Olivier Marboeuf, Maggie Nelson and Imani Perry

Large reproductions of sun-faded flower postcards, a 16 mm film on textile ageing, and a table of books and blue images to take away.

The graphic designer Charles Villa left a collection of flower postcards in the sun for months, until ultraviolet light burned off the yellows, magentas and fluorescent inks and the flowers turned blue. Three large reproductions hang beside Yto Barrada’s 16 mm film The Power of Two or Three Suns (2020), set in a lab that simulates aging on textiles.

Books on blue by Olivier Marboeuf, Imani Perry, Derek Jarman and Maggie Nelson sit on a table with thousands of Villa’s blue images, which visitors may take or add to.

Oct 22, 2026 – Jun 30, 2027 · coming up

A year-long programme of films, concerts, performances and installations by the artist, filmmaker, musician and designer Baloji.

Baloji is the guest of the second Symbiosis programme, in which one artist works with the building and its programming over a year. Short films, his first feature Augure (Cannes, 2023) with a concert extending its world, talks and installations explore his recurring concerns: refusing social labels, play and imagination, and the body as a place of memory.

A second feature, still in editing, is marked in June 2027 by performances, installations and a new augmented-reality film.
