### Joe Sacco: *Temps de Guerres*

Sep 19 – Oct 31, 2026 · on view

Drawings and comics by Joe Sacco on the First World War and the war in Gaza, shown together for the first time.

The show pairs Sacco’s panoramic drawings of trench warfare from The Great War with recent pages from his reporting on the war in Gaza, setting the two conflicts side by side.

An essay written for the exhibition by the cartoonist Emmanuel Guibert reflects on bombardment as inherited family memory, recalling Sacco’s mother sheltering in Malta during the Second World War, and on Sacco’s persistence in questioning the causes and costs of violence between people.

### Lorenzo Mattotti: *Le New Yorker: Un siècle de couvertures*

Nov 5, 2026 – Jan 16, 2027 · coming up

Ivan Brunetti, Daniel Clowes, Malika Favre, Lorenzo Mattotti, Art Spiegelman, Chris Ware and others

- Thu, Nov 5, 2026: Opening, from 6 pm, with Françoise Mouly, Malika Favre, Lorenzo Mattotti and Art Spiegelman
- Sat, Nov 7, 2026: Book signing with Françoise Mouly, from 3 pm

Original artworks, preparatory drawings and sketches behind notable New Yorker covers by thirteen artists, marking the magazine’s centenary.

Timed to a book celebrating the magazine’s hundred years, the show looks at covers before publication, when they were still works on paper in the studio. Drawings, paintings, studies and variants reveal paths that were sometimes direct, sometimes full of hesitation and change.

It is curated by Françoise Mouly, the magazine’s art editor since 1993, and gallery director Rina Zavagli. Thirteen artists are included, among them Sempé, Bruce McCall, Anita Kunz, Adrian Tomine and Richard McGuire.
