## Exhibitions

### *Cezanne et nous*

Group exhibition · Sep 23, 2026 – Jan 17, 2027 · on view · Galleries 3 and 4

Paul Gauguin, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Piet Mondrian, Joan Mitchell, Bridget Riley, Peter Doig and others

Nearly 180 works tracing how Cezanne’s painting was discovered, absorbed and argued over by artists from Gauguin and Matisse to Joan Mitchell and Peter Doig.

The show tells two stories at once: Cezanne’s influence on modern art, and the artists who claimed him as a forebear. It begins in the late 1880s, when painters and collectors first saw his canvases in Père Tanguy’s shop, and passes through Vollard’s early solo shows and the 1907 Salon d’Automne.

Works by Gauguin, Matisse, Picasso, Mondrian, Mitchell, Bridget Riley and Doig follow his legacy through lyrical and geometric abstraction and hard-edge painting to the present. It is co-produced with the Centre Pompidou and the Musée d’Orsay.

### *Transparence*

Group exhibition · Jun 20, 2025 – Aug 29, 2027 · on view · Palais des enfants

Dan Graham, Soo Sunny Park, Patrick Neu and Agathe May

A playful, sensory trail for children pairing sculpture, prints and photography with science experiments on light and transparency.

Children and the adults with them wander an imaginary landscape: a mirrored hall, a cave of crystals, a forest, a radiant sky and a many-colored ocean. Sculpture, prints and photography from the nineteenth century to today sit beside hands-on science devices about light and translucency.

Immersive pieces by Dan Graham and Soo Sunny Park contrast with quieter work by Patrick Neu and Agathe May. Co-produced with the Palais de la découverte and curated by Sophie Radix and Floriane Perot, it is made for children aged two to ten.

### Oli: *Le Musée Imaginaire d’Oli*

Dec 2, 2026 – Feb 21, 2027 · coming up

A walk-through exhibition conceived by rapper Oli, mixing around a hundred works, new commissions and sound across three levels.

Conceived by Oli of the duo Bigflo & Oli with curator Jérôme Sans, the show follows the stages of creation – vocation, inspiration, doubt, others’ gaze, refuge and transmission. It draws on contemporary art, street culture, sport, cinema, fashion and graffiti without hierarchy, in the spirit of André Malraux’s imaginary museum.

Invited artists have made new works for the rooms, and a soundtrack of voices, archives and music links them. It extends the version first shown at Les Abattoirs in Toulouse in 2024.

### *Girls. Adolescence, Mode, Rébellion*

Group exhibition · Dec 9, 2026 – Mar 21, 2027 · coming up

Louise Bourgeois, Sofia Coppola, Martin Margiela, Simone Rocha, Jenny Fax and others

Artworks, clothing, photographs, film extracts and archives on how adolescent girls have been represented and reinvented.

The show brings together artworks, garments, accessories, photographs, film clips, archives and everyday objects to look at the figure of the adolescent girl, long confined to clichés of innocence and fragility. Five thematic sections cover constraining or liberating clothes, subverted archetypes, boredom and daydreams, and magazine imagery.

It was conceived by MoMu, the Antwerp fashion museum, where it ran in 2025–26, curated by Elisa De Wyngaert, and adapted for the Grand Palais with input from teenagers.

### Mika Ninagawa with EiM: *Alive with Shadows*

Dec 16, 2026 – Mar 21, 2027 · coming up

Photographs, videos and immersive installations of flowers, butterflies and city fragments by Mika Ninagawa and her collective EiM.

Ninagawa’s first large exhibition in Europe brings together photography, video and enveloping installations built with EiM (Eternity in a Moment), the creative team she founded in 2022. Gardens, bouquets, artificial flowers, suspended butterflies and drifting goldfish stand for a beauty bound up with its loss.

Alongside her saturated colours, the show turns to quieter, more intimate nuances; its title refers to the shadows that shape us as much as light does. Lena Fritsch curates, and Atelier Tsuyoshi Tane Architects designed the scenography.
