## Exhibitions

### Irving Penn: *Le monde selon Penn*

Sep 16, 2026 – Jan 10, 2027 · on view · Galerie 2, ground floor

Nearly 450 photographs by Irving Penn from the Pinault Collection, from the 1940s to the early 2000s, hung as one large mosaic.

Portraits, fashion pictures, ethnographic studies, nudes, still lifes and flowers are mixed freely rather than by date or theme, so the Corner Portraits sit beside cigarettes, wilted blooms and fashion silhouettes. Penn’s plain studio backdrop of cloth or paper in natural light ties them together.

Curated by Matthieu Humery, the installation is part of the “Remember Me” season.

### *Raymond Depardon*

Solo exhibition · Sep 16, 2026 – Jan 25, 2027 · on view · Galerie 3

About fifty photographs from Depardon’s long-running series La France: roads, houses, shops and countryside across the country.

From the 1980s Depardon crossed France in a van with a view camera on a tripod, allowing himself one picture per place and paying close attention to small subprefecture towns, neither city nor countryside. The prints, all from the Pinault Collection, are shown as part of the “Remember Me” season, curated by Matthieu Humery.

### Nan Goldin: *Stendhal Syndrome*

Sep 16, 2026 – Jan 25, 2027 · on view · Auditorium, level −2

A slideshow pairing Renaissance and Baroque masterpieces with Goldin’s portraits of friends and lovers, inspired by Ovid’s Metamorphoses.

Goldin photographed classical paintings and sculptures on visits to major museums and sets them against pictures of the people close to her. The piece is narrated by the artist, with a score by Soundwalk Collective and music by Mica Levi, and is shown as part of the “Remember Me” season.

### Barbara Kruger: *The History of Tears*

Oct 7, 2026 – Jan 25, 2027 · on view, just opened · Rotunda and the 24 display cases of the Passage

Monumental texts on the Rotunda walls, slogans in the Passage display cases and two videos, in a new installation by Barbara Kruger.

Made for the building, the installation covers Tadao Ando’s curved walls with quotations drawn from George Orwell’s 1984 and Aimé Césaire’s Notebook of a Return to My Native Land, while the 24 display cases become lightboxes carrying Kruger’s own commands. Two videos, among them Power, Pleasure, Desire, Disgust, first shown in 1996 at the Wexner Center, are reinstalled within it.
