# Isamu Noguchi: *No Ordinary Light: Akari at 75* Nov 4, 2026 – Sep 5, 2027 · coming up Isamu Noguchi’s Akari paper-and-bamboo light sculptures, shown with his stone, metal and clay works in settings drawn from historic displays. Marking seventy-five years since Noguchi made the first Akari on a 1951 visit to Gifu, the show follows how he presented these lights over his career, from domestic interiors to monumental installations, set beside his sculptures in stone, metal and clay. Displays draw on key historical presentations, including the Akari’s debut at a tea ceremony at the Eames House in 1951 and Noguchi’s 1986 solo presentation at the Venice Biennale.
