McGowan stretches white cotton bedsheets like canvas, matching those on her own bed, and saturates them with acrylic by letting water carry and blur the pigment, so gravity and the fabric’s absorbency shape each composition. Muted tones from her earlier work now mix with acid greens, sulfuric yellows and rich magentas, registering both the tenderness of the bedroom and a sense of political instability and surveillance.
