## Exhibitions

### Arlene Shechet: *She Said She Said*

Sep 11 – Oct 24, 2026 · on view · 508–510 West 25th Street

New monumental sculptures in aluminum and Cor-Ten steel by Arlene Shechet, with smaller clay works, in her first Pace show in New York since 2020.

The large pieces, among them the 16-foot painted aluminum Eve (2026), curve sheets of metal into open, shifting forms that leave cuts, seams and welds in view. The new clay series Touching Ground uses terra sigillata, the burnished fine slip of ancient Greek and Roman tableware, in reds, blacks and oranges. Shechet has also made aluminum folding chairs for visitors.

### Lynda Benglis: *KNOTTING, TYING, FOLDING*

Sep 11 – Oct 24, 2026 · on view

Five decades of Lynda Benglis’s sculpture, from a 1972 knot of plastered wire mesh to recent bronzes, with rarely shown glass works from 1985.

The earliest piece, Sparkle Knot IV (1972), is a knot of wire-mesh tubing coated in plaster, paint and glitter. Also shown are pleated wire-mesh wall pieces covered in gold leaf or sprayed metal (1982–1990), handmade paper stretched over chicken wire (2016–2020), sand-cast glass knots from 1985, large reflective bronzes, small folded ceramics from the 2010s and Elephant Necklace (2016), 37 black glazed ceramic forms laid in a circle on the floor.

### Torkwase Dyson: *Seeing in Blue*

Sep 11 – Oct 24, 2026 · on view

New paintings by Torkwase Dyson drawn from more than ten years of deep-sea diving, in watery blues rather than her usual dark palette.

Dyson starts each canvas on the floor with pooled washes of translucent color, then builds curving geometric forms over them in drawing, shaped and painted wood, string and brass or bronze fittings; some are round. The paintings draw on notes, diagrams, photographs and poems from her dives, and on what lies below the sea’s surface, from seafloor drilling and artificial reefs to acoustic surveillance.

### *David Byrne*

Solo exhibition · Apr 10, 2025 – Dec 31, 2026 · on view

Nine life-size drawings by David Byrne, made directly on the walls of the gallery’s stairwell landings.

Byrne drew the figures at life size over several days in April 2025, on the landings between the building’s first and seventh floors. A co-founder of Talking Heads, he has also worked in drawing, photography, installation and design for five decades, and first showed with Pace in 2003.

### Jackson Pollock: *Intimate Legacy*

Sep 11 – Oct 24, 2026 · on view

Pollock’s sketchbook pages, drawings, two complete print suites, a bronze head and two paint-splattered studio stools.

The show draws on works kept within Pollock’s close circle: a 1939–1940 drawing made for his Jungian therapist, six sketchbook pages from 1950–1954 held by Lee Krasner, and print suites owned by his brother Sanford McCoy and by Krasner, later passed to nephew Jason McCoy.

Highlights include six 1951 silkscreens after the Black Paintings, the 1944–1945 engravings and drypoints made at Stanley William Hayter’s workshop, and a 1964 bronze cast of an early stone head. Two stools from the Springs studio complete it.

### Li Hei Di: *the year of mud*

Nov 6 – Dec 19, 2026 · coming up

- Thu, Nov 5, 2026: Opening reception, 6–8 pm

New paintings by London-based Li Hei Di, figurative and abstract, made over a year of personal transition.

Li’s new paintings sit between figuration and abstraction, with shifting bodies that act as vessels for memory, emotion and desire. Painted in a shimmering palette, the compositions emerge slowly as forms surface and recede. The title draws on the Chinese myth of the goddess Nüwa, who made people from flung drops of mud; Li relates it to a year of personal transition.

The show is the artist’s first solo exhibition with Pace in New York since joining the gallery in 2024. A monograph with a new text by curator Tyler Blackwell will be published by Pace Publishing after it closes.

Nov 6, 2026 – Jan 23, 2027 · coming up

Assemblage box sculptures from the 1960s to 1980s alongside never-before-seen sewn-fabric Reconstructions from 1979.

Samaras’s boxes, begun in the early 1960s, are compartmented structures to which he attached photographs, cutlery, mirrors, yarn, feathers and other found objects with liquid aluminum and plaster. The selection runs from the hinged Box #5 to the Cor-ten steel Stiff Box #14 and Box #133.

They are shown with hand-sewn fabric works from the 1979 Reconstructions series, drawn from the artist’s own collection and exhibited here for the first time.
