# *Sixth New Museum Triennial: The Outside Expands* Group exhibition · Feb 5 – May 16, 2027 · coming up Jean Barth, Jota Mombaça, Sin Wai Kin, Rene Matić and others The sixth Triennial gathers thirty-five early-career artists and collectives from around the world around themes of refusal and kinship. Co-curated by Vivian Crockett and Isabella Rjeille of MASP in São Paulo, the Triennial takes its title from a 1979 action by the Brazilian collective 3NÓS3, who marked São Paulo gallery entrances with duct-taped X’s during the dictatorship. The ‘x’ here stands for both refusal and a crossroad. The artists work against fixed notions of territory, identity, gender and sexuality, and build alternative kinships and collaborations. It is the only recurring New York exhibition devoted to early-career artists internationally.
