# *Alison Hall*

Solo exhibition · Sep 11 – Oct 17, 2026 · on view, closing soon

New panel paintings built up from oil, graphite and plaster, set in the artist’s own hand-carved walnut and maple frames.

Hall layers oil paint, graphite and plaster on panel to build dense, muted surfaces, each one set into a frame she carves and finishes herself, in Virginia black walnut or maple.

The works take their titles from song lyrics and personal references, as in You Never Even Called Me by My Name (Annie Jayne) and A Ballad (they love each other, Étretat, 1945), pairing the paintings’ quiet, worked surfaces with a note of narrative or memory.
