## Exhibitions

### Scott Kahn: *Silent Night*

Sep 10 – Oct 17, 2026 · on view, closing soon · 537 West 20th Street

Scott Kahn’s landscape paintings, new and recent canvases alongside works from the past 25 years, with recurring moons, windows and changing seasons.

Kahn paints places he has lived in and visited, reducing trees, clouds and grass to his own simple signs and charging them with unexpected color. In new works a curved horizon (Melt Off, 2026) or none at all (Fall into Winter, 2024) lets one season slide into the next; The Basement (2025), based on a recurring dream of his childhood home, sets a window among bare red, blue and green trees.

### Nate Lowman: *Hanging Out*

Sep 10 – Oct 24, 2026 · on view · 519 West 19th Street

A new series of shaped canvases by Nate Lowman in the form of keys, each painted in a different manner.

The keys range from close replicas to near-abstract outlines: some carry the artist’s own photographs, others the bright novelty patterns sold at hardware stores, and a silkscreen diptych shows two blanks not yet cut. Several come from his life, among them the smiley-face key friends gave him when he first needed a place to stay in New York and the key to his current front door.

### Thomas Ruff: *jpegs ny*

Sep 10 – Oct 17, 2026 · on view, closing soon · 533 West 19th Street

Twelve large pixelated photographs Thomas Ruff made from internet images of the September 11 attacks, shown for the 25th anniversary.

Ruff was in New York on September 11, 2001, but came home to Germany to find his camera held no pictures. In 2004 he began working from images of the day found online, compressing them, cutting their resolution and adding color, then printing them at the size of nineteenth-century history paintings, where the pixel grid stands in for brushwork and the image resolves only from a distance. The group was shown at Art Basel Unlimited earlier this year.

### *Yoshitomo Nara*

Solo exhibition · Nov 5 – Dec 12, 2026 · coming up · 537 West 20th Street and 533 West 19th Street

- Thu, Oct 29, 2026: Opening reception, 6–8 pm

New paintings, drawings and bronze sculptures by Yoshitomo Nara, shown alongside early works from the 1980s.

At 537 West 20th Street, new paintings in muted, layered color hang with works begun as colored-pencil sketches washed in translucent acrylic, large monochrome paint-stick drawings, and early works from the 1980s chosen by the artist.

At 533 West 19th Street are thirteen bronze heads, tenfold enlargements of palm-sized clay models coated in matte white, recalling the snow “monsters” of his childhood winters. It is Nara’s first show with David Zwirner and his first major solo show in New York in nearly a decade.
