## Exhibitions

### *Certainty of Repetition*

Two-person exhibition · Oct 15 – Nov 15, 2026 · coming up

Sophie Pickering and Hyunju Kim

- Fri, Oct 16, 2026: Opening reception, 5–7 pm

Figurative works made by stitching, sewing and handmade paper pulp, by two artists working between craft and fine art.

Pickering and Kim bring painterly figuration to materials and traditions usually tied to abstraction and utility. Working through slow, labor-intensive processes (stitching, sewing and handmade paper pulp), they make repetition both the method and the subject of the work.

Memory is held in the materials, and the accumulation of gestures and fibers blurs any clear beginning or end, suggesting cycles of making, transformation, death and renewal.

### *“Human Nature”: Gibbons, Roi, and Stock*

Group exhibition · Oct 15 – Nov 15, 2026 · coming up · Project Space

Karen Gibbons, Robin Roi and David Stock

- Fri, Oct 16, 2026: Opening reception, 5–7 pm (listed for the gallery’s concurrent main show; may include the Project Space)

Mixed-media collage panels, ink and acrylic drawings of trees, and New York street photography, all on the idea of human nature.

Karen Gibbons uses collage, mixed media and multiple panels to probe supposed divisions between people and nature, and between opposites such as feminine and masculine or visible and hidden. Robin Roi’s ink and acrylic pieces on paper double a drawn tree into a Rorschach-like pattern that recalls lungs, made while her husband was ill with COVID, with a green companion piece after his recovery.

David Stock’s photographs treat New York City as raw material, including Stormy, a Times Square demonstration beneath a giant billboard of mountains and a waterfall.

### *100 For 100: Affordable Art by 440 Gallery Members*

Group exhibition · Nov 20 – 22, 2026 · coming up

18 gallery members

- Fri, Nov 20, 2026: Workshop on collecting art with Karen Gibbons and Catherine Orrok (time not given)
