Luke HannamCold Sweat

A new body of paintings by Luke Hannam, built around the motif of the robot and an instinctive, physical approach to paint.

Hannam describes the paintings as a way to loosen his relationship with the medium. The robot motif brought in an absurdity from outside art, prompting quicker, more intuitive responses and letting him set aside the history of painting.

His approach draws on a long career in music, including the bands ENC and GRAMME, the latter signed to Output Records. The show is presented as a leap forward in his practice.
