Arden’s research-led practice reenacts specific cultural artefacts to show how images and narratives are reconstructed over time. Here she restages the personal property of Amy Winehouse, looking at how celebrity ownership and death shape the circulation of everyday objects and turn them into sites of fetishisation and speculation. Curated by Vittoria de Franchis, the show follows Arden’s win of the inaugural Nicoletta Fiorucci Foundation Prize at Frieze London 2025. Curated by Polly Staple, the show presents Ourahmane’s conceptual practice, in which installation, sculpture, moving image and sound create situations with consequences beyond the institution’s walls. Her work looks at displacement and community, and at how state restrictions and invisible barriers shape the movement of objects and people. It runs in Venice alongside the 61st Venice Biennale, and her recent presentations have treated the audience as material, subject and author.
