Autumn KnightI Can't Complain

A balloon-canopy installation with recorded conversations about everyday grievances, video works and live performances on complaint.

Knight’s first major UK presentation fills the Lower Galleries with a canopy of balloons, architectural elements and a sound piece built from recorded conversations in which participants air their everyday irritations, showing how small complaints point to larger social failings.

The back gallery shows earlier video works on complaint, involving objects and participants. Live performances punctuate the run, by Knight alone and with Samra Mayanja and the duo Michelangelo Miccolis and nick von kleist.
