### *Concrete Forms: A Look at the Brillembourg-Capriles Collection*

Group exhibition · From Oct 4, 2026 · on view

Lygia Clark, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Gego, Julio Le Parc, Jesús Rafael Soto and others

Geometric, kinetic and conceptual works from a private collection of Latin American and international abstract art, shown at the museum for the first time.

Drawn from the Tanya Brillembourg Capriles Collection, the show follows geometry and the grid through postwar Latin American art: the geometric movements of Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Cuba in the 1950s, Venezuelan and Argentine kinetic art, and Brazilian Conceptualism.

Installations, videos and experimental media extend the tradition into contemporary work. Nearly forty artists take part, and it is the first time the collection has been shown in the museum’s galleries. Curated by Adolfo Wilson and Gabriela Urtiaga.

### *Sigils: Unveiling the Sacred in the MOLAA Permanent Collection*

Group exhibition · From Oct 4, 2026 · on view

Ana Mendieta, Wifredo Lam, Leonora Carrington, Vik Muniz and others

Works from the museum’s permanent collection by over forty artists, on spiritual traditions in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Marking the museum’s 30th anniversary, the show gathers collection works that engage Christianity, Judaism, Santería and occult mysticism. Artists approach belief with devotion, doubt or social and political critique, often through the body, nature, iconography, ritual and the afterlife.

The works are framed as sigils, magical emblems that evoke the sacred. It is co-curated by IMLS fellows Kendall da Silva, Jorge Gallegos Hernandez and Maria Gabriela Tapia with Chief Curator Gabriela Urtiaga.

### *RED RED RED, Geometry of a Scar*

Group exhibition · Oct 4, 2026 – Feb 21, 2027 · on view · A. Angarita Family Gallery

Marina Abramović, Louise Bourgeois, Nan Goldin, Beatriz Milhazes and others

Paintings, sculpture, video, textiles and installations by about 40 women artists from 20 countries, linked by the color red.

Organized by MIA Art Collection, a private nonprofit that collects only women artists, the show looks at red in both abstraction and figuration, from love and passion to power, resistance, danger and violence. Works span generations, from Hilma af Klint and Gabriele Münter to contemporary artists.

Invited private collectors have lent further works beyond the collection. It is MIA Art Collection’s first international museum exhibition and its first in the United States, curated by Sebastian C. Strenger.
