# Narsiso Martinez: *Eat Happy* Sep 25 – Nov 7, 2026 · on view · 969 Chung King Road New paintings of farmworkers on branded grocery bags, setting premium supermarket logos against the labor of the harvest. In his fourth solo show with the gallery, Martinez paints for the first time on grocery bags from Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Lazy Acres and Ralph’s, mounted on panel and canvas. Ten such works show farmworkers picking, resting and eating lunch, the figures placed against the bags’ printed slogans and logos. Martinez, born in Oaxaca and based in Los Angeles, worked nine seasons in Washington state’s fields before art school, and is best known for portraits painted on discarded produce boxes.
