## Exhibitions

### Narsiso Martinez: *Eat Happy*

Sep 25 – Nov 7, 2026 · on view · 969 Chung King Road

New paintings of farmworkers on branded grocery bags, setting premium supermarket logos against the labor of the harvest.

In his fourth solo show with the gallery, Martinez paints for the first time on grocery bags from Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Lazy Acres and Ralph’s, mounted on panel and canvas. Ten such works show farmworkers picking, resting and eating lunch, the figures placed against the bags’ printed slogans and logos.

Martinez, born in Oaxaca and based in Los Angeles, worked nine seasons in Washington state’s fields before art school, and is best known for portraits painted on discarded produce boxes.

### *Food and Beyond, Beyond Food*

Group exhibition · Sep 25 – Nov 7, 2026 · on view · 969 Chung King Road

Andrea Bersaglieri, Ashley Jose-Isip, Jessy Slim and Karen Tepaz

Four women artists take up food and nourishment, in a group show curated by Narsiso Martinez alongside his solo exhibition.

Andrea Bersaglieri shows large black-and-white charcoal drawings of soil; Jessy Slim paints with chickpeas, a link to her native Lebanon; Ashley Jose-Isip draws on fast food, artificial sweets and plates to look at Filipino-American identity; and Karen Tepaz’s organic, abstract ceramics refer to motherhood.

Narsiso Martinez organized the show to run with his own Eat Happy.

### The Perez Bros.: *Lookout Weekend*

Sep 11 – Oct 24, 2026 · on view · CJG2, 961 Chung King Road

New resin-glossed paintings of Los Angeles lowrider culture, from garage tune-ups to a panoramic car show in Victoria Park.

The twin brothers Alejandro and Vicente Perez paint from their own photographs of garages, cruise nights and car shows, finishing the canvases in high-gloss resin with metal flake. Scenes of polishing and repair lead up to A Sunday Afternoon at Victoria Park, one of their largest paintings, with more than a dozen cars and the crowd around them.

Their second show with the gallery takes its title from a 1984 Debbie Deb song. Charlie’s Transmissions is their first shaped canvas, cut like a spare-tire cover.
