Johanna Grawunder, Paul Cocksedge and others

Light- and heat-made design objects by thirteen figures, from acrylic light sculpture to slumped glass tables and finger-pressed ceramics.

The show looks at how light and heat produce contemporary craft, from kilns to the high temperatures that shape glass and metal. Johanna Grawunder shows M2, a hanging sculpture of angled translucent acrylic panels that act as infinite mirrors. Paul Cocksedge contributes glass tabletops from his Slump series, softened by hand at extreme heat over stone, metal or wood bases.

It includes the gallery’s first presentation of ceramicist Nobuhito Nishigawara, whose Mantra 94 is an ovoid covered in finger-pressed patterns. Works by Nacho Carbonell, Rick Owens, Vincenzo De Cotiis, Atelier Van Lieshout and others complete the show.
