## Exhibitions

### Lindsey Warren: *Somewhere, Here*

Oct 17 – Nov 14, 2026 · coming up

- Sat, Oct 17, 2026: Opening reception, 3–6 pm

Ten new oil paintings of Los Angeles trees and places, seen in particular light and reduced to simplified shapes and color.

Warren paints real spots she finds on foot around her Mt Washington neighborhood, treating trees like portrait subjects whose color is set by sunset glow or a streetlight. She works from photographs and memory, building thin blended layers in oil, then adjusting hues and shapes as the painting develops.

Architecture is kept faithful while trees and buildings are pared down to essential forms. It is the gallery’s fourth solo show of the Los Angeles painter.

### Ron Rizk: *For the Time Being*

Oct 17 – Nov 14, 2026 · coming up

- Sat, Oct 17, 2026: Opening reception, 3–6 pm

New paintings of architecture and landscape, based on small foam core structures the artist builds and sets in dioramas.

Rizk, known for trompe l’oeil still lifes, turns his attention here to buildings and flora. Where earlier compositions were assembled from found objects, he now constructs structures in foam core and places them in simple dioramas to paint from.

The buildings come from his extensive travels, set in landscapes drawn from research, imagination or memory. At 85, Rizk treats the new work as more autobiographical than before, still built on objects that tell a story. This is his third solo show at the gallery since 2022.

### Judy Nimtz: *Featuring*

Oct 17 – Nov 14, 2026 · coming up

- Sat, Oct 17, 2026: Opening reception, 3–6 pm

New small-scale oil paintings of places visited abroad, drawn from the artist’s own travel photographs.

Nimtz, known for figure painting and plein air landscapes, combines the two here. Working from photographs she took while travelling overseas, she paints architecture, rooflines, light and shadow, and figures at rest or absorbed in a task, in the spirit of a contemporary Grand Tour travelogue.

The compositions are modest and personal, and the scale draws viewers in close. The slow, dream-like oil handling is set against the quick snapshots the images began as.
