# Elizabeth Warfel: *Escapist Tendencies* Nov 14 – Dec 19, 2026 · coming up · Window space - Fri, Nov 13, 2026: Public reception, 6–9 pm Oil paintings of crowded bars, pool halls, casinos and clubs, framed by arches and doorways. Warfel, born in 1997, paints the busy interiors of nightlife venues, places where one can be absorbed into a crowd and shed identity markers. Arches and entryways frame glimpsed spaces beyond, building on the idea of the threshold. No phone appears in the pictures, but its presence is felt in blurred figures and warped walls, as digital and physical space merge. The show is staged in the Berlin gallery’s Window space.
