## Exhibitions

### Julia Wachtel: *Return to Content a/b*

Sep 10 – Oct 24, 2026 · on view, closing soon

Wachtel’s first large solo show in Germany: multi-panel paintings from 2017 to now that pair found images from television, ads and the news.

Run jointly with Jahn und Jahn in Munich, which shows the other half at nearly the same dates (hence the “a/b”), the show gathers paintings made since 2017, close to half of them new from 2025 and 2026. Wachtel joins screen-printed and oil-painted panels into wide compositions she calls “linear collages.”

In Berlin hang the title work, Return to Content (2025), which sets a crocodile from Soviet cartoons beside a 1920 newspaper page, and Grab a Fucking Pencil (2026), with a portrait of Susan Sontag.

### Mia Gap and Freja Sofie Kirk: *tracks, taps*

Sep 10 – Oct 24, 2026 · on view, closing soon · Downstairs

A two-person show in the downstairs space pairing Mia Gap’s physical panels of digital scenes with Freja Sofie Kirk’s photography and video.

Curated by Guilherme Vilhena Martins, the show sets side by side two artists who treat the image as a material. Gap (born 1993, Germany) builds layered painted, photographic and sculptural panels from scenarios first made on screen; Kirk (born 1990, Denmark) uses photography and video drawn from entertainment imagery to look at power, labor, commodities and desire.

### Ulrich Gebert: *Poltergeist Presence*

Oct 30 – Dec 19, 2026 · coming up

New conceptual photographs, series, wall tableaux and installations joining hunting metaphors with the physics of optics.

Gebert’s newest work links present-day social analysis to historical photographic practices. Hunting metaphors meet optical phenomena, and the pieces look at our uneasy relationship with technology and with animals.

Shown as installations, series and wall tableaux, the works avoid any romantic reunion of humanity and nature. They take a critical but humorous look at how people treat animals and plants, and at photography’s ghostly way of depicting the world.

### Johannes Raimann: *Oje oje*

Oct 30 – Dec 19, 2026 · coming up · Downstairs

Photography-based works on cuneiform and the Epic of Gilgamesh, considering writing, storage and what survives catastrophe.

Raimann’s first show at Klemm’s takes writing as a technology and a way of negotiating power, history and collective trauma. It centers on cuneiform, the oldest known writing system, and the Epic of Gilgamesh, tracing how stories persist through catastrophe.

Working mainly with photography, the Austrian artist (born 1992) examines how images and digital information are made, stored and transmitted, moving from ancient tablets and archaeological ruins to digital archives and present-day storage systems.
