# Steingrímur Gauti Ingólfsson: *Notes Toward Nothing* Nov 6 – Dec 19, 2026 · coming up New paintings on canvas and linen, folded, layered and worked on the floor, then cut, sewn and reassembled. Ingólfsson starts without a set image, working acrylic, dry pigment and binder across folded and layered canvas and linen on the floor. Unfolding and reassembling the materials reveals an image he helped make but had not seen. Pieces may be cut apart, sewn together or revisited years later, with fragments travelling between paintings. The show takes the openness of a sketch as its starting point. “Nothing” here means refusing a predetermined outcome, not absence.
