The gallery’s second show of Parrocchetti (1923–2016) concentrates on about ten years of her work. At its center is a sculpture from Le Barriere (1978), an inverted-triangle display frame made with the feminist Gruppo Immagine of Varese, with whom she showed at that year’s Venice Biennale. Around it are the embroidered jute tapestry Telaio infranto (Il cuore della vita) of 1978, two paintings of 1975 including No alla fallocrazia, an assemblage with a press clipping of Ulrike Meinhof, and excerpts from her diaries and a 1978 conference speech. The show centers on Search for Life II (2025), a film commissioned by TBA21, Sharjah Art Foundation and The Vega Foundation and narrated in Tagalog by a pearl. It is projected onto the back wall through a four-meter curtain of artificial pearls, so the light casts the gallery as if under water. Three film stills remade in colored pearlescent beads hang nearby, and a screen at the far end loops social-media clips of pearls pried from oysters. Comilang, born in Toronto in 1980, lives between Toronto and Berlin.
