## Exhibitions

### Carrie Mae Weems: *The Heart of the Matter*

Sep 12, 2026 – Feb 3, 2027 · on view

A retrospective of more than four decades of Weems’s photographs, videos and installations on race, gender, power and memory, with over 100 works.

Early series such as Family Pictures and Stories (1978–84) and the Kitchen Table Series (1990), in which Weems stages scenes of love and family life at her own kitchen table, lead on to pictures of museums, monuments, film studios and plantations.

Newer work includes Preach (2024), on Black communities of faith, and Leave Now! (2022), a Pepper’s ghost video installation about her grandfather, an Arkansas tenant farmer. Curated by Sarah Hermanson Meister of Aperture, adapted by Boaz Levin.

### Stelios Kallinikou: *Cliffs Among Dreams*

Sep 12, 2026 – Jan 20, 2027 · on view

- Thu, Oct 15, 2026: Artist talk with Stelios Kallinikou and writer Tom Seymour Evans (in English), 6–7:30 pm

Photographs, films and sculptural assemblages from more than ten years on Cyprus’s Akrotiri peninsula, where a British air base borders a salt-lake wetland.

Flamingos on the Akrotiri Salt Lake share the frame with radar masts, fences and air traffic, along a route Kallinikou traces from Limassol harbor past the lake to the archaeological cliffs of Aetokremnos.

One of two winners of the After Nature . Ulrike Crespo Photography Prize 26, shown jointly with Susanne Kriemann and curated by Katharina Täschner; the pair travels to Frankfurt in 2027.

### Susanne Kriemann: *Im Fieber der Sonne flattern Schmetterlinge im Bauch*

Sep 12, 2026 – Jan 20, 2027 · on view

Camera-less images exposed by uranium ore and plants from former uranium mines, with work made from slag and floorboards found in Kriemann’s Berlin studio.

In the new cycle Pechblende (Fever), radioactive ore and dried plants gathered at remediated mining sites in Saxony, Thuringia and France’s Limousin expose sheet film directly; more film was buried in a reclaimed waste heap near Dresden.

Slag from under her studio floor becomes pigment, its wood shavings paper, and the floorboards part of the installation. The second After Nature Prize 26 winner, curated by Katharina Täschner.
