# *Collection Intervention on the 250th anniversary of U. S. Independence*

From Jul 4, 2026 · on view · Münzkabinett

Two small displays of coins and medals from the Münzkabinett tracing United States history, for the 250th anniversary of independence.

The selection follows the country through founding, immigration and internal conflict, explains where the word dollar comes from, and includes a Revolutionary-era medal with George Washington’s portrait by Pierre Simon Benjamin Duvivier. It is part of the “We the People” program of the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz.
