## Exhibitions

### Jeewi Lee: *Residual Memories*

Sep 11, 2026 – Apr 5, 2027 · on view

Jeewi Lee’s first institutional solo show in Berlin, made for the GASAG Art Prize 2026 and built around sand.

Lee works in painting, sculpture and site-specific installation with humble materials that carry traces of time and wear. Here she turns to sand: a mix of minerals, rock, organic remains and now microplastics, the base of concrete, glass, microchips and water filters, and a resource growing scarce through global demand. A sound work runs through the rooms.

Born in Seoul in 1987, Lee lives in Berlin. The prize, given every two years with GASAG, honors work between art, science and technology.

### *Su Yu Hsin*

Solo exhibition · Sep 9 – Oct 26, 2026 · on view · IBB Video Space

- Mon, Oct 19, 2026: Speaking of Video Art, open discussion of the IBB Video Space program, 5 pm

Su Yu Hsin’s film trilogy Particular Waters, on the water, desert land and silicon that computer chips and AI depend on.

The three films move from Hsinchu in Taiwan, where a water-truck driver recalls the 2021 drought that strained chip production, to the Arizona desert, seen partly from a self-driving car as it fills with chip plants and data centers, and on to Dresden-Gittersee, where a history of coal and uranium mining meets today’s “Silicon Saxony”.

Su, born in Taichung in 1989, lives in Berlin and Taipei.

### Josef Kaiser: *Building for the GDR*

Aug 28, 2026 – Feb 1, 2027 · on view

A survey of East German architect Josef Kaiser (1910–1991), whose buildings include Kino International on Berlin’s Karl-Marx-Allee.

Drawings, photographs, films and models follow Kaiser’s work from 1950 to 1970 in the collectives behind the GDR’s prestige state buildings, many now protected landmarks, and the political and aesthetic frictions around them. Contemporary artists Veronika Kellndorfer, Karsten Konrad and Tracey Snelling add works responding to his legacy.

### Lovis Corinth: *Then Came Berlin!*

Oct 9, 2026 – Jan 25, 2027 · on view, just opened

A major show on Lovis Corinth’s Berlin years, from his move from Munich in 1901 to his place at the center of the city’s art world.

The exhibition follows the painter (1858–1925) through his rise in Berlin and the part his household played in it, and looks at lesser-known sides of his work: the painting school where he taught mostly women, and his work for Berlin theaters.

It draws on the museum’s own Corinth canvases, researched for the show, and continues its series on Berlin modernists after Munch, Hodler, Laserstein, Mammen and Beckmann.

### *3hd 2026: Beyond Imagining*

Group exhibition · Oct 30 – Nov 30, 2026 · coming up · IBB Video Space

- Thu, Oct 29, 2026: Opening, 6 pm

Four short films by Sara Sadik, Vika Kirchenbauer, Simone C Niquille and Simona Andrioletti, shown by the Berlin platform Creamcake for its 3hd festival.

Each film sets one figure, real or invented, against a force beyond their control: a fictional military training program in Sadik’s Ultimate Vatos: Force & Honneur, the German state in Kirchenbauer’s This Suffocating Now, a Hillary Clinton impersonator before the 2016 election in Niquille’s The Fragility of Life, and re-filmed found footage of failed self-defense in Andrioletti’s Defence. What do you do with your anger?
